CBD oil is derived from the cannabis plant. In recent years, it has gained massive popularity for its potential health benefits. Studies are mounting with evidence for how CBD is good for your health. Between that and anecdotal evidence from worldwide users, it has become a common alternative medicine for treating a variety of conditions.

Here are five ways CBD promotes great health.

It Can Help You Sleep Better

CBD has been shown in various studies to promote better sleep. One study showed how CBD helps to improve REM sleep. Other research shows that CBD could play a therapeutic role in treating insomnia. While most of the studies looking into CBD’s effect on different sleep disorders are in their infancy, the results are promising nonetheless.

Additionally, CBD could help people sleep in general. One of the side effects of larger doses of CBD is drowsiness, suggesting it could play a role in helping people fall asleep.

Another way CBD can help improve sleep indirectly is by reducing anxiety. Anxiety is one of the primary factors for why people have trouble sleeping.

It Can Reduce Anxiety

As previously noted, CBD is known to help reduce anxiety. Research has largely shown that CBD can serve as a potential treatment for various anxiety disorders. In fact, 31 out of 32 rodent studies found that CBD has therapeutic benefits related to anxiety.

Human evidence exists as well regarding the positive impact of CBD on anxiety, both in people with anxiety disorders and in general. The results of that research showed how CBD improved performance anxiety.

More human research is certainly needed to fully understand the relationship between CBD and anxiety. However, between the hard science and anecdotal evidence, the latter having an abundance, there is much reason to believe that CBD can have great calming effects.

It Relieves Pain And Inflammation

CBD can also have pain-relieving effects, much of which comes from its ability to reduce inflammation. Inflammation is the source of many forms of chronic pain, including in conditions like arthritis and multiple sclerosis. A very recent 2020 randomized, controlled study found that CBD led to a statistically significant reduction in sharp and intense pain.

Considering that many of the current treatment options for chronic pain are either ineffective or come with serious and potentially dangerous side effects, the use of CBD instead would be ideal. CBD is not known to have any serious side effects.

It Works Wonders On Skin

Many skin disorders, such as acne, psoriasis, and eczema, are caused by inflammation. Because CBD seems to be an effective anti-inflammatory, it can have positive effects on these skin conditions. CBD has been shown to help reduce skin itchiness, redness, and pain.

CBD also exhibits natural antioxidant and moisturizing properties, helping to reduce the visible signs of aging skin, like redness, dullness, and wrinkles.

It Provides Neuroprotection

The neuroprotective behavior of CBD is also under study. So far, researchers have found that CBD may exhibit neuroprotective activity that could help to prevent or improve various neurodegenerative diseases. Much of how CBD is helpful in neuroprotection is believed to stem from its anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties.
