CBD Protein Snacks

CBD edibles are gaining popularity, and for good reason. Research now shows this non-intoxicating cannabis derivative may have a multitude of health benefits, including relieving stress and anxiety, functioning as an anti-inflammatory, treating chronic pain, and helping people sleep. So it makes sense that such a wonder-substance would be a great addition to food.

While CBD edibles are available pre-made for purchase, the DIY method is also fun (not to mention more cost-effective). If you’re looking to get the health benefits while also packing into energy at the same time, these three recipes are full of protein and so easy to make. They don’t even require any baking!

These recipes in particular pack in a lot of protein, so you can be sure you won’t run out of energy. With bite-sized convenience, you can keep them with you all day and pop one in your mouth any time you need a little pick-me-up.

1. The CBD Protein & Coffee Bite Breakfast

This CBD bite-sized breakfast is perfect for mornings on-the-go. They have a bit of coffee in them for some extra oomph to get the day started right. Plus, making them yourself means that they’re so much healthier than those pre-packaged breakfast bars or a muffin from the coffee shop.

Here is the recipe for these perfect little CBD protein bites:

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 cups old fashioned oats
  • 1/2 cup almond butter
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup ground flaxseed
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon instant coffee
  • 1/4 cup chocolate chips
  • 2-3 droppers full of CBD oil

Instructions:

  1. Mix the oats, flaxseed, coffee, and salt together in a large bowl
  2. In a separate bowl, combine the honey and almond butter, then microwave them for 30 to 40 seconds, or until you can easily mix it
  3. Pour the honey and almond butter mixture over the oats mixture, add the CBD, and stir it well until it is blended to your liking
  4. Put it in the fridge for at least 30 minutes, or until dough is firm
  5. Once the mixture is firm, you can form it into bite-sized balls
  6. Store in a covered container in the fridge or freezer.

The bites can last up to two weeks in the fridge, or longer in the freezer, if you can make keep the around that long without eating them!

2. CBD Oats & Apple Snack

To add a healthy sweetness to a mid-morning snack between breakfast and lunch, you won’t have to feel guilty with these CBD Oats & Apple Bites. They will hit the spot and keep your energy up so you can make it to lunch.

Ingredients:

  • 1 apple, sliced
  • 2 cups of old fashioned oats
  • 2 tablespoons hemp hearts
  • 1 cup almond butter
  • 2 tablespoons chia seeds
  • 2 tablespoons maple syrup
  • 2 teaspoons cinnamon
  • 2-3 droppers full of CBD oil

Instructions:

  1. Stir the apple, oats, hemp heads, chia seeds, and cinnamon together in a large bowl
  2. Put the almond butter and maple syrup in a separate bowl, then microwave for 30 to 40 seconds so that it is easy to blend them well
  3. Add the almond butter and maple syrup mixture to the oats mixture, then add the CBD, and stir the whole thing well
  4. Put the finished mixture in the fridge for at least 30 minutes, or until the dough is firm
  5. Once the mixture is firm, form it into bite-sized balls
  6. Store in a covered container in the fridge or freezer

These snack bites can also be stored for up to two weeks in the fridge and longer in the freezer. It might be hard to keep them that long, though, as they are just so delicious.

3. CBD PB & Chocolate Chip Protein Balls

This recipe makes for a scrumptious afternoon snack. It also gives you a guilt-free way to eat some chocolate and boost your energy in the workday’s final hours.

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 cup old fashioned oats
  • 1 cup peanut butter
  • 2 tablespoons chocolate chips
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 2 scoops (around 50 or 60 grams) chocolate protein powder
  • 2-3 droppers full of CBD oil

Instructions:

  1. In a large bowl, mix together the oats, chocolate chips, and protein powder
  2. Place the peanut butter and honey in a separate bowl, then microwave for 30 to 40 seconds or until the mixture is easy to stir
  3. Pour the peanut butter and honey sauce over the oats mixture, then add the CBD and stir it all together well
  4. If necessary because the mixture is not firm enough, refrigerate for around 30 minutes
  5. Once the mixture is firm, form it into bite-sized balls
  6. Store in a covered container in the fridge or freezer

These chocolate-y CBD snacks can be stored for up to two weeks in the fridge, more in the freezer. Imagine if you can refrain from gobbling them up for that long.
